Over 16 years Powerplay have been running leagues within the borough of Islington, providing commercial organised football to local players.

Without any due notice GLL have agreed a national commercial partnership with another organisation which means from 1st Jan all Powerplay football terminates.

This decision without any process or consultation has removed any freedom of choice from the customer as to which commercial league they wish to participate in, ignores the years of loyal custom from Powerplay and more importantly demonstrates that a social enterprise is not looking out for their customer.

Yes we are commercial but our leagues are run by local referees and the local players have made that choice to play in that local league.

we ask two things:

1: GLL who are acting on behalf of council facilities have to demonstrate that there was a proper and right process in place - if not then this must be reviewed.

2: Let the customers decide - it's their participation which is the driving force behind the usage of their pitches!
