Private Hire Bike Firms Clutter Islington Streets
We the undersigned petition the council to Ban private for hire bikes (Ofo etc.) that are currently cluttering the streets of Islington.
There are now masses of private for hire bikes all over Islington, left in random areas cluttering our streets.
I am sure at some point these will start costing the tax payer money as we will be left with the bill of removing them, recycling them are they fall into disrepair. Additionally I am sure kids will end up throwing these into canals in the local area which will cause further environmental issues.
The main point here is that we the people living in Islington now have to see piles of these ugly yellow or red/silver bikes stacked or left in various locations all over our neighbourhood.
See examples in Australia, China etc. where there are too many of these bikes and they clutter the street.
In Islington there are only a few hundred and it already too much. Please remove them or ask the people of Islington whether we are happy to have to see these bikes all over our streetscape making the area look unkept and cheap.
