Declarations of interest
If you have a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest* in an item of business: · if it is not yet on the council’s register, you must declare both the existence and details of it at the start of the meeting or when it becomes apparent; · you may choose to declare a Disclosable Pecuniary Interest that is already in the register in the interests of openness and transparency. In both the above cases, you must leave the room without participating in discussion of the item.

*(a)Employment, etc - Any employment, office, trade, profession or vocation carried on for profit or gain. (b) Sponsorship - Any payment or other financial benefit in respect of your expenses in carrying out duties as a member, or of your election; including from a trade union. (c) Contracts - Any current contract for goods, services or works, between you or your partner (or a body in which one of you has a beneficial interest) and the council. (d) Land - Any beneficial interest in land which is within the council’s area. (e) Licences- Any licence to occupy land in the council’s area for a month or longer. (f) Corporate tenancies - Any tenancy between the council and a body in which you or your partner have a beneficial interest. (g) Securities - Any beneficial interest in securities of a body which has a place of business or land in the council’s area, if the total nominal value of the securities exceeds £25,000 or one hundredth of the total issued share capital of that body or of any one class of its issued share capital.

Decision: AGREED RECOMMENDATIONS
1. To consider the new proposals and changes to previous proposals submitted by ward councillors as set out in Appendix A and to agree these proposals in principle subject to the Corporate Director of Community Engagement and Wellbeing being satisfied that the necessary checks have been made and any other issues resolved.
2. To note the declarations of interest made by councillors due to having a connection with organisations that they are recommending funding for. These are detailed at paragraph 4.4 of the report.
3. To note the amendments to ward budgets resulting from project funding being returned, which are detailed in Appendix B of the report.
4. To agree that no more than £1000 underspend per ward can be carried forward by councillors to 2024/25.
5. To continue with delegated authority to the Corporate Director Community Engagement and Wellbeing, in consultation with the Executive Member for Homes and Communities, to make changes to the use of previously awarded funding.

Islington Community Chest 2024-25 PDF 93 KB Additional documents: Decision: AGREED RECOMMENDATIONS
1. To agree to the renewal of the council’s partnership agreement with Cripplegate Foundation for administering and delivery of the ICCC programme for 1 year from 1 April 2024 to 31 March 2025.
2. To agree a financial commitment from the council of £190,000 per annum for the financial year of the ICCC programme 2024/25. To agree a financial reduction of £10,000 to the current agreement of £200,000 per annum.
3. To agree for the Community Partnership team to work with Cripplegate Foundation to establish and scope a complete review for the ICCC programme beyond 01 April 2025, including priorities, criteria, how the grant is administered and governance.
