RESOLVED:
2.1 That the procurement
strategy for the continuation of the fleet replacement
programme, as outlined in this report, be agreed.
2.2 That the authority to
award fleet replacement contracts up to April 2019 be
delegated to the Corporate Director of Environment and Regeneration
in
consultation with the Executive Member for Environment and
Transport be
agreed.
Reason for decision – to ensure the council can meet its statutory obligations, be compliant with forthcoming ULEZ legislation and reduce dependency on hired vehicles and costs for fuel, maintenance and repairs.
Other options considered – none other than as specified in the report.
