Reviewing services provided to local people
The Children's
Services Scrutiny Committee is one of the Council’s 5
scrutiny committees.
The Children's Services Scrutiny Committee is
responsible for reviewing matters related to the council's
education function. For this reason, there are co-opted members on
the committee: two parent-governor positions, and representatives
of the Church of England and Roman Catholic Diocese. The registers
of interest for the co-opted members is
below.
·
Sophie McNeill – Parent Governor
Representative (Primary)
·
Susie Graves
– Parent Governor Representative
(Secondary)
·
Mary Clement
– Roman Catholic Diocese
Representative
·
Nick Turpin
– Church of England
Representative
During a review, committee members
gather evidence in a variety of ways, including visiting
organisations and other local authorities and receiving witness
evidence, including from residents. When the committee has all the
evidence they need, they make a number
of recommendations to Executive to improve services and
monitor their implementation 12 months on.
